 Hints for Administrators
 Detect IP address via LDAP
For dynamic configuration you can resolve the IP address via LDAP query.

Then instead of the IP address you have to enter "snom_ldap.ini ATTRIBUTE_NAME" (without quotation mark). The file snom_ldap.ini contains the LDAP connecting parametres. The parameter ATTRIBUTE_NAME determines which attribute contains the telephone IP address.

The file "snom_ldap.ini" can be named also differently, however, must end on "ldap.ini" and may contain no blanks.

You find an example of snom_ldap.ini in the folder "Working directory\cfg". If you enter "snom_ldap.ini givenname" for the IP address, "SuiteSpot" sould be resolved as attribute value. The example results in a "TCP connect error", however, should make clear the principle.
You can have a look at the structure of the used LDAP server of the University of Arkansas with the LDAP-Browser.

Customize existing configuration via INI file
The connection settings are stored in "WorkingDir\local_profiles\ComputerName\snom_line.ini".

Hints:

  • A configured "password" will be read in and saved encoded. Then the parameter "password" is empty again.
  • If "initPhoneCfg=1", then the Actions URL are anew transferred and the SIP identities are scanned.
